There are reports out of England of a possible BEE GEES reunion tour even though brother Maurice Gibb died unexpectedly in 2003, following surgery on his intestinal blockage, and that the remaining brothers, Barry Gibb and his twin Robin Gibb said there would no longer be the Bee Gees without their brother.
Robin recently said that he and Barry might return to the performance stage as the Bee Gees. Robin told the BBC that he is "very open" to a comeback if Barry "feels comfortable with it. When or where is to be decided at a time when he says yes." Rhino Records currently has a "Best Of" cd set on the market.
Time will tell.
UPDATE 9/8/09 - Robin Gibb has now revealed that he and his brother Barry are planning to reform the Bee Gees. Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra, he confirmed that they the two are ready to perform again as a duo, after the group split up six years ago following Maurice's death. Robin said: "The two of us are getting back together again. I was with Barry in Miami a couple of days ago. It was an emotional thing because Maurice wasn't just a brother, he was a comrade in arms really. "We have got through the breakwater of the emotions and now we can go forward."
UPDATE 10/24/08 - In a recent BBC interview to promote an appearance with Ronan Keating and Sharleen Spiteri at the Electric Proms this weekend to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of "Saturday Night Fever" soundtrack hitting #1, Robin Gibb again eluded to a BeeGees reunion! He suggests that when a musical based on the band is released, the reunion may happen!
