MUSIC NEWS -The Kinks legendary leader, Ray Davies will perform a handful of special acoustic duo concerts in support of his critically acclaimed second solo album "Working Man's Cafe" (New West Records/Ammal Records). Mr Davies will perform seven shows starting July 11 in Ottawa, ONT and ending on July 22 in Anaheim, CA.
"Working Man's Cafe" serves up 12 new songs written by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member and co-produced with the Grammy Award-winning producer, engineer Ray Kennedy (Lucinda WIlliams, Steve Earle, Delbert McClinton.). It was recorded in Nashville at Kennedy’s Room and Board Studios and mixed in North London at Davies’ Konk Studios, it is only Davies’ second solo album. His first release was the 2006 solo debut "Other People’s Lives." Working Man's Cafe is available as a music CD, deluxe CD/ DVD, digital download and double 180g vinyl. Working Man’s Café, focuses on the plight of the worker, the every day man around the world. It is Davies’ “American record” (many of the songs were written and all produced in the USA) describing the changes he’s seen in this country since he first started visiting in the ‘60s
The Kinks formed in 1963 and are best remembered for the classics, "Lola," "All Day and All of the Night," "You Really Got Me," "Tired of Waiting for You," "Set Me Free," "Dedicated Follower of Fashion," "A Well Respected Man," "Sunny Afternoon," "Waterloo Sunset" and "Apeman."
