Finally, the much rumored, but until now unconfirmed David Byrne (Talking Heads) / Brian Eno (Roxy Music, musical associate of Robert Fripp and producer of U2, Coldplay and others) tour is on. Three dates are scheduled so far, Sept. 20 in Atlanta, and a Sept. 26 stop at the Austin City Limits Festival and an Oct. 4 show in Santa Barbara, CA. More are expected to be added later. The shows will be advertised as "The Songs of Talking Heads' David Byrne and Roxy Music founder Brian Eno." Audiences can expect music from the period of Talking Heads' and Eno's collaboration, which included 1980's landmark "Remain in Light," as well as songs from throughout Eno's time with Roxy Music and beyond. Byrne and Eno are also working on a new studio album, planned for later this year, which Byrne will self-release. A detailed online strategy will help the effort, which will be the duo's first musical project together since 1981's "My Life in the Bush of Ghosts." Nonesuch Records released that album in an expanded form in 2006. Ticket information to be released later.
