Peace Thru Music Instrument Drive and Fundraising Event in Ventura, CA!! If you're in the Ventura, California area, or can be this Saturday, July 26th note the premiere of Kevin Costner's new movie, Swing Vote, from Touchstone Pictures, will be held downtown, followed by a free concert that evening by his band, Modern West. If you're tourist coming to LA this weekend, make the short 1.5 hour ride to Ventura! Peace Thru Music and City Corps, two Ventura, CA-based non-profit groups, have put together a fun event for all that afternoon.
The City Corps facility, is located on California St., and will be perfect viewing spot for Costner's concert. Come early, have some fun with them, and secure your spot on California St. for the Costner Modern West show. Entry is free (it's "On The Curb"!) and they will have GREAT live music from some top-notch local bands, along with BBQ, pizza, drinks, a raffle to win one of four guitars signed by Kevin Costner, and lots of other giveaways. Most importantly, if you're going...PLEASE dig through your closets and pull out any unused, unwanted, unloved musical instruments that you would like to donate to Peace Thru Music. They will make sure they are put in the hands of deserving children in the community, and you get a tax write-off!
