SNOW PATROL's New CD Announced
We love this band and can't wait; Snow Patrol's fifth studio album will be called "A Hundred Million Suns" and will be released in October, according to newspaper quotes and an online post from frontman Gary Lightbody. The band spent several months recording at Grouse Lodge in Ireland and has also put in time at Berlin's Hansa Ton Studios, where such legendary albums as U2's "Achtung Baby" and David Bowie's "Low," "Lodger" and "Heroes" were tracked. "A Hundred Million Suns" is the follow-up to 2006's "Eyes Open". Written by Snow Patrol, the album was produced by Garret “Jacknife” Lee (Bloc Party, REM, U2).
The group is planning a few small shows in Ireland in support of the album, but details have yet to announced. The Northern Irish indie-rockers have sold more than seven million albums worldwide. While speaking to the Belfast Telegraph newspaper, drummer
Jonny Quinn slipped that the "melody-based" album's working title was One Hundred Million Suns. "It's different too in ways from the other albums," he added. "It's hard to know what everyone will make of it but we're happy. I’' go as far as to say I think it's our best album yet. "The new album should be out some time later this year, maybe October," he revealed, "and we certainly want to get home to play a big gig for everyone next year." On their website Lightbody said, "...they printed it anyway,". "We're sorry you didn't hear it from us first but the album is indeed called A Hundred Million Suns." He added: "We will endeavour to make you guys the first to hear about everything else. It's becoming increasingly hard but we'll do our best. Lots of apologetic love to you all."
We guess that makes it official !!
