MUSIC NEWS - Rock guitarist, Nils Lofgren, known to millions as the guitarist in Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band, was scheduled to get both of his hips replaced today, September 30, at a New York City hospital. He posted this message to his fans on his website, "Due to a long, beautiful life on the road (40 years) that's included back flips with guitars, dive rolls, leaping off drum risers and trying to break stage floors with pounding legs due to the amazing energy I gratefully continue to get from you, the audience, in addition to thousands of hours playing aggressive basketball (my favorite sport to play) on mostly cement, city courts, I have finally destroyed both of my hips and they are both bone on bone with no cartilage left".
Prior to joining the E Street Bands, Nils had a lengthy, successful solo career and known for his exciting live performances. We wish Nils, a Maryland native, a speedy recovery! He is one of the best active rock players and an important part of the E Street Band. See related Bruce, E Street Band news, here and check out Nils' new Yankee Stadium tribute tune.
