MUSIC NEWS- Well over ten years and $10M+ in the making, we will finally see the official release of the Guns N Roses much anticipated album, CHINESE DEMOCRACY. But, it will be a retail exclusive with Best Buy. How much of this matters to consumers is still tbd. But at least we have word of the release, rumored for November 25 and closure to the strange tale of this album. Rose told Rolling Stone magazine in 2006 of the album; "It's a very complex record. I'm trying to do something different. Some of the arrangements are kind of like Queen. Some people are going to say, 'it doesn't sound like Axl Rose, it doesn't sound like Guns'N'Roses'. But you''ll like at least a few songs on there." Doesn't sound too encouraging, does it? Interestingly, all original members of the group, except Axl Rose have left the band while this GnR release was in it's lengthy "limbo" period and they have new management in Irv Azoff's Frontline Mgmt. The band's co-manager, Andy Gould, tipped Best Buy employees at a recent vendor event in Dallas, Texas of the imminent release. He then played three songs from the finished record for the group! It's rumored that one of the album's tunes will be involved in Ridley Scott's upcoming movie Body Of Lies, starring Russel Crowe and Leonardo Di Caprio, which is due for theatrical release on October 10. We have more details as soon as they're announced...
