MUSIC NEWS- Metallica drummer has welcomed the recent internet leak of their new album, a week ahead of its official release. Speaking on San Francisco radio station Live105, Lars Ulrich said: "If this thing leaks all over the world today or tomorrow, happy days." "It's 2008 and it's part of how it is these days," the musician added. Death Magnetic, (buy a copy of one of the many album versions, here) officially releasing worldwide on September 12, was posted on the internet after reportedly being sold early in a French retail shop. The group, who was recently honored at the Kerrang! awards in London last month, made one of the album's tracks, Cyanide, available for download recently. Ulrich appeared on the San Fran radio station to give fans a sneak preview of the album. They are certainly comfortable with the internet, in 2003, Metallica decided to permit fans to download their music via the internet, three years after they took legal action to stop digital access to their material. They chose to make their entire catalog available for download in 2006; after finally relenting on a refusal to allow their music to be carried by iTunes.
They are currently on a world tour and will hit North American this fall. We can't wait !!!

"It's the way business is done these days," Mr Ulrich said. "And there's the novelty of anyone wanting to listen to a new Metallica album."
