REM Guitar Stolen !! Update- Now Returned!!!

     MUSIC NEWS- The BBC is reporting that REM guitarist Peter Buck's Rickenbacker guitar was stolen on Tuesday at a gig in Helsinki, Finland.  A reward is being offered for its recovery.  Buck has used this guitar live and in the studio since their 1982  debut EP Chronic Town.  Contact the band if you have any information; thru e-mail at fanclub@remtour.com or by calling (001) 706-353-6689 !!

                                     

UPDATE- 9/21/08 - Great Music News; Peter Buck's stolen guitar was was returned anonymously to their Luxembourg venue before the band's concert there last night. In a statement, Buck said of the instrument, a Rickenbacker that he's has owned since 1982: "It's great to have it back in my hands. I'm looking forward to playing it tonight in Luxembourg".

It's very sad that instruments with a history always get lost/stolen. I live in Sweden but it's probably not a big chance that this guitar shows up in the nearest future.
