Music News - FBI SEARCHES FOR MISSING TOUR BUS and DRIVER !!! Over the last few weeks, we've
had bands' equipment disappear (REM's guitar). We've even seen a van disappear (with Iggy Pop's gear) . But now, THE KILLS have beat all, when their entire tour bus and driver disappeared on their current USA tour with The Reconteurs. The disappearance has started an international search by FBI and the police. The Kills report; "While on tour in the United States with The Raconteurs, our bus and driver have vanished. It is thought that the driver has commited grand theft auto or that he is in some kind of trouble. The bus and driver were last seen on the morning of the 26 Sep at a Prevost dealership in Los Angeles, CA. The driver got some new tires and was set to head to Austin, Texas to meet back up with us. His phone has been off since that afternoon". Guitarist/singer Alison Mosshart added; "Federal investigators and police are searching for the bus and driver through out the US and Mexico. We are currently travelling to Nashville, TN and have no luggage or belongings. But aside from this bad luck, touring with The Raconteurs has been great, so we're in good spirits. The magnitude of the loss hasn't quite sunk in to our shell shocked bones. If anyone has seen a black Prevost tour bus with Tennessee plates 0305 EA, call the police".

UPDATE 2/13/09 - Their former tour bus driver has been arrested in Miami. The man, which Dade County Corrections website identifies as Brian Bereknkemper, was charged with "robbery by sudden snatching" by local police. The bus was discovered abandoned in a LA parking lot a week later, but the driver disappeared. Check out their post on THE KILLS website.
