MUSIC NEWS - Kid Rock will soon end his long standing NO digital downloads stance by signing a four-month exclusive deal on his catalog with Rhapsody. Beginning today, October 3, Kid Rock's tunes on Rhapsody are available as a DRM-free purchase as full albums only, while individual songs can be downloaded only thru their subscription plan, or streamed on the service's 25 free songs per month offer. Mr Rock has been a very vocal advocate of keeping music available only as downloads as full albums, which is the basis for the the absence of his music from the iTunes store. Apple insist that they sell music as both albums and as singles. Rock's going with Rhapsody is not a complete surprise, as he recently told Billboard Magazine that he was planning to add his music to digital retailers soon. Once Rhapsody's exclusive deal ends, we can expect his music to show up on other services, with the "twist" that any services that make his music available must do so as a full-album sale only. You can buy his latest cd, Rock N Roll Jesus, here.
