MUSIC NEWS - Disgraced British rocker, Gary Glitter has had his name removed from the wall of the famous Cavern Club in Liverpool, England reports NME. The club posts the names of the acts that have performed at the club, on bricks on the its wall, but the convicted sex offender's name has been taken off. In other Glitter news, HP computers has pulled the tv commercial that features Joan Jett singing Glitter's tune, "Do You Wannna Touch Me?". The former glam rocker, Glitter, whose real name is Francis Paul Gadd, had a hit with the tune in 1972. He more recently served about two years in a Vietnamese prison for sexually abusing two young girls. He also was previously convicted of possessing child pornography and is on Britain's sex offenders registry. Hewlett-Packard decided to halt the tv campaign for their TouchSmart computer after receiving complaints about the classic song's author. Hewlett-Packard officials claimed they weren't aware of Glitter's association with the song, this despite previous outcry by Child Advocacy groups (some research, huh?).
