MUSIC NEWS- The MTVu Woodies were awarded last night (11/12) at the Roseland Ballroom in NYC with Paramore taking the big one ! Motion City Soundtrack kicked off the night by winning for video of the year for "It Had to Be You". Followed were indie rappers Atmosphere, who picked up the Performance Woodie. Eighties revival act Chromeo took home the Left Field Woodie, while NYU band the Bride Wore Black won for best music on campus. The Breaking Woodie went to emo band There For Tomorrow. Jack's Mannequin received the Good Woodie for charitable work, and Paramore grabbed the top prize, Woodie of the Year. There were a few live performances at the ceremony, Cool Kids, Lykke Li (who was joined by Q-Tip), All Time Low, Santogold and Vampire Weekend each did short sets. The MTVu Woodies are the definitive college music awards (so says MTV !).
