MUSIC NEWS- The Blu Ray release of Wilco film, the 2002 Sam Jones’ documentary "I am Trying to Break Your Heart.", has been delayed after Wilco sent an email message to fans to NOT buy the release. Here's their message-:
Without consulting us, the DVD company (not WB/Nonesuch) that released "I am trying to break your heart" is about to issue a Blu-Ray Edition which, no surprise, costs considerably more (nearly 2x) than the standard DVD. We're unsure as to the rationale for the release, given that the film was shot in beautiful grainy B&W and has a stereo-only audio track... there is, in our opinion, not much to be gained by spending the extra cash. It's your money... and in this case you should probably hang onto it.
Plexifilm founder Gary Hustwit has now made the announcement on their website explaining his side of the controversy and has delayed the release. Brooklyn based Plexifilm had planned the BD release for next month but has encountered complaints from the band for the high selling price of the blu ray. Until he can show the band the improved quality of the BD release and make his case, he's decided to hold off on making it available to the public.
