MUSIC NEWS- As we wait for more news on Bonnaroo 2009 (June 11-14, see Bonnaroo 2009 announcement) , we're happy to tell you that we received word today about a Bonnaroo 2008 DVD release. It'll be called Live From Bonnaroo 2008 and will be released in January 2009 (exact date tbd). It was created as part of an offer for fans who bought tickets to the 2008 event, but now, the organizers are making it available to all for $19.99slp. The dvd release is designed to show the breadth and diversity of the entire Bonnaroo experience, and will feature exclusive performances and backstage footage of artists such as Metallica, Pearl Jam, Jack Johnson, The Raconteurs, Tegan and Sarah, Against Me!, My Morning Jacket, Les Claypool, Broken Social Scene, Sharon Jones and The Dap Kings, among many others. Sam Erickson (My Morning Jacket, Dave Matthews) and 44 Pictures directed the program, which features exclusive packaging and artwork. It sounds like it will be great whether you attended Bonnaroo 2008 or not. The audio was engineered from Bonnaroo's pristine master soundboard recordings and remixed in stereo and 5.1 surround sound.
