MUSIC NEWS- Official word is out --- Radio Woodstock & Warren Haynes present the 2009 Mountain Jam Music festival (the fifth annual) at Hunter Mountain in the picturesque town of Hunter, NY (short trip from NYC) on Friday, May 29th thru Sunday, May 31st. Gov’t Mule will anchor the festival for the fifth year in a row, while The Allman Brothers Band will make their exclusive Northeast festival appearance at Mountain Jam as part of their 40th anniversary celebration. In addition, the three-day event will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the legendary Woodstock Music & Arts Festival, which took place in nearby Bethel, NY.
The Awareness Village will once again host Rock the Earth, a not-for-profit environmental advocacy group, Headcount, which promotes voter registration, and Community Energy, a company committed to increasing the domestic supply of clean, fuel-free energy. The festival has a strong environmental program and will be implementing bio-degradable vending supplies and a strong recycling and post event clean-up program.
The Hunter Mountain Lodge will provide fans with 24-hour access to both food and indoor bathrooms, while onsite camping and a smorgasbord of nearby hotels and lodges will ensure that all attendees will have a wide variety of accommodations. This year, Mountain Jam will also offer expanded VIP options, and will bring back its highly acclaimed “Tavern in the Woods” featuring private bar area and hammocks, as well as a shaded hospitality tent, and a variety of gourmet food and beverages.
Early bird tickets go on sale Monday, January 26 through MountainJam.com.
