MUSIC NEWS - No official announcement has been made yet, but Phish's first tour in five years seems like a done deal. Billboard reports that LiveNation.com had listed a January 30 on-sale date for a Phish show for June 18, 2009 at the Post-Gazette Pavilion near Pittsburgh, PA. This would coincide with flowing rumors of an appearance by the band at the Bonnaroo festival in Manchester, Tenn., the weekend before. Currently, as MNN reported the only definite Phish shows are March 6 thru 8 at the Hampton Coliseum in Hampton, Va.. These will be the band's first full shows since August of 2004.
UPDATE 1/8/09 -Today, Phish has confirmed additional tour dates for summer '09, their first tour since splitting in 2004. The tour begins June 4 & 5 at Jones Beach in Wantagh, NY; tickets on sale January 30 & 31. More shows will be at the Comcast Center near Boston (June 6), Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden, NJ (June 7), Civic Center in Asheville, N.C. (June 9), Fox Theatre in St. Louis (June 16), Post-Gazette Pavillion in Burgettstown, Pa. (June 18), Verizon Wireless Center in Noblesville, Ind. (June 19), and Alpine Valley in East Troy, Wis. (June 20-21). We'll give out the updated info as available.
