U2 to Make Brit TV Live Appearance; Track List Released and New Single

    MUSIC NEWS - U2 have agreed to perform live at this year's Brit Awards, February 18 at the Earls Court ceremony in London.  This will mark Bono & company's first tv appearance since opening Live 8 with Paul McCartney in July 2005  and will perform their brand new single ‘Get On Your Boots’ .  Also signed on for the Brit Awards show are the Pet Shop Boys, who will receive the Outstanding Contribution To Music Award this year. The event will be broadcast live on ITV1.   The full performer/presenter line-up will be announced soon with Coldplay rumored to be appearing.  Award nominations will be announced on January 20, 2009

In other U2 news, the single "Get on Your Boots," willl premiere on Monday, January 19 on Dublin's 2FM radio on the Jim Breakfast Show . It will be released digitally Feb. 15 and on packaged media the following day.  As we previously reported, "No Line on the Horizon" will be available in five different versions. Japanese artist/photographer Hiroshi Sugimoto did the album cover (pictured at right).    U2 is expected to tour this summer, its first outing since signing a multi-rights deal with Live Nation last March.

UPDATE 1/19/09 -Following its’ premiere on global radio today U2’s new single ‘Get On Your Boots’ is now playing on the band’s "Boots" site at goyb.u2.com !  ‘Get On Your Boots’ is the first track from the band’s 12th studio album ‘No Line On The Horizon’ on Monday 2nd March 2009.
