MUSIC NEWS - The US rockers blink 182 appeared together at the 51st Grammys Awards show to present an award and announced plans to reunite for a new album and tour. And, today, this statement was released - "Hi. We're blink-182. This past week there've been a lot of questions about the current status of the band, and we wanted you to hear it straight from us. To put it simply, we're back," the group said in a statement released via its label, Interscope Records. "We mean, really back. Picking up where we left off and then some. In the studio writing and recording a new album. Preparing to tour the world yet again. Friendships reformed. Seventeen years deep in our legacy. Summer 2009. Thanks and get ready ..."
The band was formed in 1992 but has been on "hold" since 2005. The reunion news comes several months after Travis Barker, the band's drummer suffered burns in a plane crash in SC that killed four others. He is expected to make a full recovery.
