DEF LEPPARD to Hit the Road this Summer, Then Maybe a Break

     MUSIC NEWS - Rockers Def Leppard have announced a summer 2009 tour, (with with Poison co-headlining and Cheap Trick on the bill) but DL frontman Joe Elliott has said it might be their last tour for a some time.  The band has spent every summer touring for the last five years, and Elliott feels it's time for a break.  He says he wants to make sure that a Def Leppard concert remains a special event and,  "I'm very pleased that we are coming back to North America. We're gonna be touring with some new friends and some old friends and can guarantee it will be the Rock Tour of the summer."Elliott also says he wants the band to start recording a new album.  Their last CD back in 2008 with,  "Songs From the Sparkle Lounge" (buy CD here) and the health problems caused by extension touring for that release is likely causing the band to slow down after this summer run.   The US 40 city tour starts off on June 23 in Camden, NJ (Philadelphia, PA area). Tickets go on sale next week.
