ERIC CLAPTON and STEVE WINWOOD Announce June USA Tour and Live Album

MUSIC NEWS - After their historic three-night run at Madison Square Garden in NYC, Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood have today announced a 14-city U.S. tour beginning June 10, 2009 in E. Rutherford, NJ (NYC area).

Both Winwood and Clapton have long and prestigious musical careers with numerous honors and awards to their names. Their musical paths connected in 1969 with the formation of Blind Faith>, a group that pioneered the blend of rock and blues and found them tremendous studio and stage success. Unfortunately, the band was short-lived with only one album released and a brief 1969 tour that debuted July 12 at Madison Square Garden and ended August 24th in Hawaii. Since that final gig, Winwood and Clapton have remained friends, but have only performed together a few times over the years for an occasional song at charity events. The '08 Madison Square Garden shows were the first full Winwood-Clapton concerts in 40 years! Additionally, 2009 marks the 40th anniversary of Blind Faith and 40 years since they performed to over 100,000 people in Hyde Park, London.

Steve Winwood latest release was the 2008's Nine Lives on Columbia Records. Clapton’s compilation album Complete Clapton(buy here) was released in 2008 via Reprise Records. The duo’s performance at the 2007 Crossroads Guitar Festival in Chicago is out as part of Rhino Entertainment's 2-disc DVD (buy here) . This spring, the duo will release "Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood Live From Madison Square Garden", a new live album (and dvd/blu ray) that features performances that include Blind Faith's "Presence of the Lord," "Can't Find My Way Home" and "Had to Cry Today." Plus, Eric Clapton's "After Midnight," "Tell the Truth," "Crossroads" and "Forever Man" and Steve Winwood's "Dear Mr. Fantasy," "Glad," and "Well All Right" (full track list below and full tour itinerary).
