GREEN DAY Tips Off New Album Title, Cover Art

     MUSIC NEWS - From the Grammy stage, we learned the title to Green Day's forthcoming (May 2009) album, 21st Century Breakdown. They made the announcement as they were unveiling the Album of the Year winner.  It'll be their eighth album and it's said tp be as powerful as their 2004 Bush-whacking American Idiot.  After Idiot's success, "we asked how much more ambitious can we be?" says singer/guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong. "We could take a sideways step or go back to our roots. We chose to move forward".  And today, The band confirmed the basic details on their official website.  The album will be split into three 'acts' entitled Heroes And Cons, Charlatans And Saints and Horseshoes And Hand Grenades. We can't wait for a sneak peak !!!

The album is expected to be one of 2009's major hits (watch for a summer tour too), Breakdown addresses working-class struggles, internal demons, apathy and the fading American dream. "It's about reflecting what's been happening the past three years and putting it to melody with some bold statements" says Armstrong.
