MUSIC NEWS - Scottish rockerd Simple Minds announced plans to release a new album, their first in four years, this spring. The BBC reported that the band's 15th studio album, "Graffiti Soul," will be out May 25 with plans for a worldwide concert tour to support. Singer-songwriter Jim Kerr told the BBC that the band's new album will feature "the most ballsy pop songs we have written in years." "Sometimes you hit a period where everything just fits together perfectly and turns out exactly as you hoped it would," Kerr said. "'Graffiti Soul' reflects that very sentiment."
The band is known to most folks for the classic, "Don't You Forget About Me" (buy their cds), which was in the 1980s teen film classic, "The Breakfast Club" (buy dvd here).
