MUSIC NEWS - Quite an interesting line-up for the new, TINTED WINDOWS group. The band has former Smashing Pumpkins guitarist James Iha, Cheap Trick drummer Ben E Carlos, Fountains Of Wayne bassist Adam Schlesinger and a Hanson brother, Taylor Hanson.
A spokesperson has said the new band already completed two music videos and will to tour with guitarist Josh Lattanzi (The Lemonheads, Albert Hammond, Jr). Carlos' involvement is said to have been a dream come true for Iha, Hanson, and Schlesinger. After joining together to create the band, agreed that Carlos would be their band's "best choice" drummer. So, they gave him a call; and he agreed to join up.
Iha and Schlesinger co-own Scratchie Records and New York's Stratosphere Sound Studios (with Ivy's Andy Chase). It's where the quartet recorded their debut album (title still tbd, April 09 release), which they'll likely highlight at their SXSW Festival gig.
UPDATE - 2/23/09 - The debut, self-titled album by Tinted Windows will be released April 21st on S-Curve Records. The band will be making several appearances at the upcoming South By Southwest Festival in March. They will also perform select club shows starting this spring, and will appear at the Bamboozle festival at New Jersey's Meadowlands (NYC area). A performance on The Late Show With David Letterman is scheduled for April 20th with more dates announcing shortly.
