MUSIC NEWS - Recent movie biz reports are that Daft Punk will signed to compose the soundtrack to the anticipated sci-fi sequel Tron 2 (Disney) The Dance duo (Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter) haven’t released a studio album since their 2005 Human After All (buy cd here) and their new work for the film won't be due out until the film's 2011 release !
Disney is making a sequel to 1982 sci-fi film Tron (buy dvd copy here) which starred Jeff Bridges and featured the characters entering a computer world. It is likely to be called Tr2n and will be directed by Joseph Kosinski. An appropriate arrangement, since the French house sound leaders Daft Punk released their own sci-fi flick called Electrorama and regularly play live dressed as robots.
