MUSIC NEWS - After reports of Max Weinberg missing several of the NJ Asbury Park Convention Hall rehearsals, it's been announced that the drummer on the small number of upcoming BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN & the E STREET band shows won't be Max Weinberg due to commitments at his other job. Since Max leads Conan O'Brien's talk-show house band he's expected to be in LA when O'Brien replaces Jay Leno on "The Tonight Show," on June 1 resulting in Weinberg missing some Springsteen tour dates. Instead, a brilliant young drummer from New Jersey named Jay Weinberg, 19, will drum with the band ! (no confirmation yet on which dates). Commenting on the situation, Bruce said: "Once again, I want to express my appreciation to Conan O'Brien, and everyone on his team, for making it possible for Max to continue to do double duty for both us and for him. We promise to return him in one piece."
