* A batch of films about the British rock scene of the 1960s will be out this year. Up first, at least on DVD, is My Dinner With Jimi. The film was written by someone who was actually there: The Turtles’ lead singer Howard Kaylan. Check it out June 9, from Micro Werks.
* Out June 15 in the UK from earMusic, comes 'Johnny Cash Remixed', that features remix interpretations of Johnny Cash classics from the crème de la crème of re-mixers - Alabama 3, The Heavy, Buck 65 and many more. The new set was executive produced by Snoop Dogg, Cash's son John Carter Cash, and Mathew Knowles.
* Swedes' Don't Be A Stranger have their new Frutti di Mare album released in the USA on Cheap Lullaby Records. Check out their Download Free Music Here offer!
* 15 years after Kurt Cobain's suicide on April 5th, 1994, comes the authoritative story of grunge. 'Grunge is Dead: The Oral History of Seattle Rock Music' (released April 1, 2009, ECW Press) by Greg Prato. It's the definitive story of the Pacific Northwest music scene of the late '80s and early '90s. The author will sign copies of the new book at The Book Revue in Huntington, NY on Wed, April, 8 at 7pm (313 New York Ave), and also at Easy Street Records & Cafe in West Seattle on Sat, April 25 at 6pm (4559 California Ave SW).
