MUSIC NEWS- Currently on a short breack, the British alt-rockers GOMEZ will be back on the road for a series of shows this spring (USA, then the UK and Europe) for a mix of headlining and festival gigs to promote the band's just-out new album, "A New Tide" on ATO Records (buy a copy here) . The album was co-produced by the group along with Brian Deck (Iron & Wine, Modest Mouse). It features guest performances by several musicians; Amy Milan of Stars and Broken Social Scene, bassist John Abrams, multi-instrumentalist Stuart Bogie of Brooklyn's Antibalas Afrobeat Orchestra and cellist Oliver Krauss.
The band, who just ended an early spring USA run with a Williamsburg, Brooklyn show on April 3rd, will start up a second US visit in May, working up to the band's appearance on June 12 at Bonnaroo in Manchester, TNl. The tour, which will resume on May 22 in Detroit, is booked to stop in 14 cities (full itinerary below).
