MUSIC NEWS - Green Day is rumored to be making a NYC club appearance on May 18 at the Bowery Ballroom, three days after the scheduled release of their anticipated eighth studio album, "21st Century Breakdown," according to MTV Germany. This news comes days after their surprise San Francisco club appearances, including a show at the 500-capacity DNA Lounge where they played "21st Century Breakdown" in its entirety before playing a set of older material. No word yet NYC ticket availability.
"21st Century Breakdown" (via Reprise Records) tells the story of a young couple, Christian and Gloria and is broken up into three acts; "Heroes and Cons," "Charlatans and Saints" and "Horseshoes and Handgrenades" that include songs named, "21 Guns," "East Jesus Nowhere," "Before the Lobotomy," and "Restless Heart Syndrome."
The album's first single, "Know Your Enemy," is due for an April 16 release with the video debuting on April 24, 8pm at all MTV and VH1 channels worldwide (MTV's first global cross-channel video premiere). The video was directed by Matthew Cullen of Motion Theory
