MUSIC NEWS - In celebration of the 20th anniversary of MERGE RECORDS, Merge bands of the past and present will converge for five days of live music, July 22 thru 26th in the heat of the sunny North Carolina summer. They're calling these five days of live music and mayhem, XX Merge, and tickets go on sale April 8, 2009 (@ 10am) ! The events will feature over 25 of your favorite Merge artists including...Superchunk, Spoon, Conor Oberst, Spent, M. Ward, The Rosebuds, Destroyer, Guv'ner, Polvo, Pipe & The Broken West. Many more bands both expected and unexpected still to-be-announced!
The shows will comprise; 4 nights at the Cat’s Cradle in Carrboro, NC and 1 night at Memorial Hall in Chapel Hill, NC on UNC Campus. More details on additional music & bedlam still to be announced! In the meantime, note that 5-Day Passes are $150 and will get you in to all XX Mergefestivities and available thru catscradle.com or mergerecords.com . A limited number of tickets for individual Cats Cradle shows and the Memorial Hall show will be on sale later.
