MUSIC NEWS - Known as one of the best "live" rock'n'roll bands in the world, Simple Minds have announced the UK leg of their forthcoming "Graffiti Soul World Tour". The seven UK concerts will coincide with the anticipated release of Simple Minds' 15th studio album "Graffiti Soul", releasing on May 25, 2009. Guests on the UK tour will be "OMD". "We are very excited to announce the UK leg of the Graffiti Soul tour," says Kerr. "Graffiti Soul is one of our most powerful albums to date. The new songs have an undeniable rock and roll edge and immediacy to them and we can't wait to perform them live!" "Particularly in these times it is vitally important for us to give as much value to our audience as possible," says Jim Kerr, lead singer and founding member of Simple Minds. "Playing a full set of hits and other surprises, I know that OMD will contribute so much towards making each of these shows into memorable events!" Between the two groups, Simple Minds and OMD have sold 75 million albums worldwide as well as chalking up over 40 hit singles.

UPDATE 5/26/09 - To coincide with this week's release of Simple Minds' new studio album "Graffiti Soul", the band has announced an additionl stop (the 8th) to their upcoming Graffiti Soul UK tour. They will now perform their final UK concert at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre on Saturday, December 12, full itinerary below). Very special guests on all UK dates will be OMD.
