AC/DC Tour Returns to Their Homeland- 500,000+ Tickets Sold !

     MUSIC NEWS - Not even halfway thru 2009, 2010 concerts are already making the news!  In Australian, hometown metal rockers, AC/DC have sold out their February 2010 concerts within minutes Monday this week. Promoters claimed that no other entertainers visiting Australia had sold out shows faster than AC/DC, which was formed in Sydney by brothers Malcolm and Angus Young back in 1973. Promoters say about 500,000 tickets were sold by 4:00pm AEST yesterday with 1 out of 40 Australiams planning to see the band live. That makes it the fastest-selling concert tour ever offered in Australia. Two extra concerts have been added in both Sydney and Melbourne after the first sold out within 10 minutes. One of heavy metal's legendary groups, they released their breakthrough album, Highway to Hell, in 1979, a year before songwriter and lead singer Bon Scott died in Perth after a heavy drinking session.

The band, which hasn't toured Australia in since 2001, released their first album in eight years in 2008. The album, Black Ice, was a chart-topper in 29 countries.   The band continues on a world tour to support Black Ice (see full itinerary below).
