MUSIC NEWS - Clear Channel Radio today unveils NYC’s newest performance space: the P.C. Richard & Son Theater. A 5,500 square-foot, street-level performance space in a historic Sixth Avenue building will serve as the live performance home for Clear Channel Radio’s New York-based FM radio stations – Z100, Q104.3, 106.7 Lite-fm, Power 105.1 and WKTU and their east-coast home for iheartradio original productions, including their stripped and NEW! performances.
P.C. Richard & Son, a Long Island based electronics retailers, purchased naming rights to the theater under a multi-year commitment. Under that agreement, they'll have the opportunity to co-promote events including Z100’s Z Lounges; Power 105.1’s Power Radio Live; Up Close & Personal with 106.7 Lite-fm; and intimate events for Q104.3 and WKTU.
The theater’s inaugural live performance tonight is by Tinted Windows; the new band that includes James Iha of Smashing Pumpkins, Bun E. Carlos of Cheap Trick, Adam Schlesinger of Fountains of Wayne and Taylor Hanson of Hanson. Green Day is up next on May 20 to promote their new 21st Century Breakdown release.
