MUSIC NEWS - Wildfires in the Santa Barbara, CA area have caused the the cancellation of several shows, including tomorrow's concert by local Katy Perry
at the Santa Barbara Bowl out of safety concerns. Perry
issued a statement reading; "What's most important right now is fighting the fires that threaten my hometown and saving Santa Barbara," "Naturally, I am very upset, but I understand the circumstances and am counting down the days when we can all be back at the Bowl to celebrate Santa Barbara and experience The Hello Katy Tour Grand Finale! My prayers are with you, Santa Barbara." The show has been re-booked for August 30, with tickets for the original show being honored for the new date, says Nederlander Concerts, the event's promoter.
Additionally, the "Jesusita Fire" has also caused the re-scheduling of Lily Tomlin's Friday (May 8) and Saturday (May 9) shows at the Lobero Theater, which are now set to take place October 16 & 17 according to local paper, The Santa Barbara Independent.
"It was the most hilarious, stupid prank I've ever pulled."
