MUSIC NEWS- Nylon has announced their 2nd annual Summer Music Tour with NYLON Records’ artists Patrick Wolf and Plastiscines on the bill, along with Living Things and Jaguar Love. The tour brings some of 2009’s most cutting edge artists together. See here for cities and dates, with more to come!
NYLON recently launched their record label with the signing of the Parisian female rockers. The Plastiscines have been hailed as France’s most exciting rock band with an addictive garage sound that gave them a hit, 2007’s “Loser” (buy the MP3 below, or their full LP1 album), while still in high school. The jeune filles just released their EP Barcelona via iTunes on April 21 and will be releasing their second full length About Love in June to coincide with the tour. The album was recorded in L.A. with producer Butch Walker (Katy Perry, Pink, Avril Lavigne) and mix-master Claudius Mittendorfer (Foo Fighters, Franz Ferdinand, Muse). Check out PLASTISCINES news video for BARCELONA after the break!
Patrick Wolf, the UK-based multi-instrumentalist known for his orchestrated and emotive songs will release his fourth studio album The Bachelor on August 11th, with a digital release on June 2nd via iTunes on NYLON Records. The Bachelor narrates a story of pessimism regarding love to be concluded with a forthcoming sequel album. Always expanding on his repertoire of different musical genres, Patrick’s command of baroque pop is taken to a new level with the addition of large choral and string sections, and collaborators such as Alec Empire, Tilda Swinton, Eliza Carthy, and Matthew Herbert.
