ANJULIE Chosen as One of Five New Artists for MTV's "FRESHMAN 5"

     MUSIC NEWS - Starting this week, Anjulie is one of five performers featured this summer as part of MTV’s “Freshman 5”. The program, which will feature Anjulie all around MTV, runs for three months, leading up to her debut release on August 4 (via Hear Music). The music video for her song “Boom” (view it below) was directed by Adria Petty (Kings of Leon, Duffy, Regina Spektor).  Anjulie, from Toronto,  is an intriguing, authentic new voice on the pop landscape, with the gift for smooth melodies, vocal strenght and sophistication that show us to be a true original.  Anjulie has been singing and writing songs since she was a teen, and the years she spent honing her skills are apparent The new album was co-written with her producer and collaborator Jon Levine (of Canadian R&B hit makers the Philosopher Kings), Anjulie sets intensely personal stories about her life, loves, obsessions, and heartbreaks to a glowing genre-blending mix of pop, hip-hop, rock, and world rhythms she heard as a child growing up.  Check out her NYC and LA shows this month (itinerary below).
