WILCO Has a Good Week at the Album Shoppes

MUSIC NEWS - Despite overall cd sale declines in the USA, Wilco (the album), the seventh studio effort by the Chicago band, debuted #4 on the Billboard album chart and sold 98,980 copies in its first week. It's also garnered strong critical acclaim for its' great music (MNN included) and radio airplay (despite it's lame title ! ). Wilco (the album) [out via Nonesuch Records] is the band's most successful sales week in their fifteen-year history, beating its previous release Sky Blue Sky (2007) , which sold 87,000 copies in its debut.

Wilco’s summer tour resumed this week as well (see full itinerary below), and while in NYC for their Brooklyn gig, Wilco will perform “You and I” from

Wilco (the album) on The Late Show with David Letterman on Tuesday, July 14 with special guest vocalist Feist. Be sure to tune in !
