MUSIC NEWS - After a string of European show cancellations on this tour, Depeche Mode has now been forced to cancel their Wednesday, August 12th "TOUR OF THE UNIVERSE" gig at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, CA based on doctor's orders that lead singer Dave Gahan stay on complete vocal rest for 48 hours. Because of their very tight tour itinerary, the Bay Area date will not be rescheduled this year. Currently, no other shows are to be canncelled, with Friday's Chula Vista, CA show and their upcoming Hollywood Bowl gigs still on!
UPDATE 8/15/09- And now, their Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre show in San Diego is off due to Gahan's condition. Says the band: “We are incredibly disappointed to not be able to perform for our fans tonight in San Diego,” “We hope to be back soon to play for all our fans in the area.” For now, the Hollywood Bowl shows are set.
