MUSIC NEWS - One of the top makers of intelligent electronic dance music, Leicaster, UK's, Rival Consoles (23-year old Ryan Lee West) has just released IO on Erased Tapes. Rival Consoles first appeared two years ago with an EP released on the London-based label. After having supported his city neighbors and label buddies on an extensive European tour in November 2008, West determinedly worked all winter to finish his first full-length album 'IO', out in North America now. With unusual influences from impressionists such as Claude Debussy and modern electronic artists such as Autechre and Daft Punk, Ryan Lee West has created a unique signature sound for Rival Consoles.
In additon to his extensive touring throughout Europe, West has repeatedly performed at the Tate Britain Museum in London, where he's drawn over 2000 visitors into his unpredictable, yet detailed sound drawings. In February 2007 West released and toured the more quirky 'Vemeer EP' under his second musical alias Aparatec, which sold beyond expectations and earned him IDM, acid and electro fans alike. New York composer and film scorer Nico Muhly (known for scoring the Oscar-nominated film The Reader and his work with Bjork and The National), Daniel James aka Canon Blue from Nashville as well as fellow countrymen The British Expeditionary Force are among the first to receive West's trademark remixes.
