MUSIC NEWS -The frontman for the Scotish alt rock band GLASVEGAS, James Allan, has been missing for five days, his bandmates have revealed. The lead singer failed to appear at the Mercury Prize Award ceremony on Tuesday night, causing concern about the musician's health & safety.
Rab Allan, the band's guitarist and cousin of James, told the Daily Record newspaper that he had not been seen since Friday, when the band flew to Glasgow from a festival appearance in Italy: "He had been saying for ages that he needed a break. Everyone is panicking." Rab continued: "We're not supposed to talk about it. He has been working really, really hard. "I miss him. The message is: 'Please get in touch'." After joking that the singer was suffering from crabs, Mr Allan said: "No, he's unwell so he can't be here." The band was nominated for the Mercury Prize for their self-titled debut album and were scheduled to perform at the Grosvenor Hotel in London, but cancelled due to James's disappearance.
GLASVEGAS is still scheduled to open for Kings Of Leon on their USA tour, with a start gig this week in Boston, MA.
UPDATE - Mr Allan has been reported to be alive and well in NYC !
