MUSIC NEWS- Rachael Ray was so outraged at a recent taping of her tv show (for a November 6 airing) with guests
Daryl Hall and John Oates when she was informed that the duo (the biggest selling pop duo of all time) have not yet been inducted into the
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
In her noble effort to correct this egregious wrong,
Rachel said "
Hall and Oates has my vote!", and in a call to action posted on her blog, urged fans to leave comments advocating
Daryl and John's induction. In less than 48 hours, the quicky petition had amassed 400 testimonials, plus a groundswell of support on
Twitter and Facebook. Check out
Rachael's petition and fan comments
here.
The reason behind the visit, and controversy, is apparent by the success of the duo's new 'Do What You Want, Be What You Are: The Music of Daryl Hall and John Oates' (out via RCA/Legacy), the duo's first ever box set, which has been a music chart hit and is the third best selling CD box set debut of 2009, only behind the two Beatles boxed sets
.
You can also catch Daryl and John performing on A&E's 'Private Sessions' this Sunday morning, October 25.
