ELTON JOHN Hopes to Return To Concert Stage Soon

MUSIC NEWS - As Sir Elton John continues to recover in a UK hospital from a serious case of e-coli bacterial infection along with influenza that caused him to cancel several concerts, he's optimistic about returning to the concert stage soon, a spokesman, Gary Farrow,  said on Monday.

The British rock/pop star John, 62, postponed five gigs on his Red Piano tour in England and Ireland.  The problems began with the October 23 date in Sheffield, and he has also postponed three USA concerts that were scheduled for November 4, 7 and 10 as part of the the Elton John / Billy Joel Face 2 Face tour.

Farrow said John is looking to travel to the USA to join the "Piano Man",  Billy Joel on November 14 at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, CA.

No word on reschedule dates for the postponed concerts.

UPDATE 11/17/09 -  The Face 2 Face tour has again experienced another setback, this time due to Billy Joel's health.  Live Nation announced that Joel is unable to tour due to undisclosed "medical reasons."  So, tonight's (11/17) show in San Jose, CA, has been postponed. Ticketholders are requested to keep their tickets until more information about a rescheduled date is available.

The latest news comes afterlast Saturday's (11/14) postponed concert in Oakland, CA, as a result of Sir Elton's illness.

UPDATE 11/4/09-  John's spokesman said John was released from a London hospital on Thursday evening and is now at home and feeling fine. He said John planned to resume his suspended Face 2 Face tour and confirmed that Sir Elton would play scheduled USA dates with Billy Joel starting in Oakland, CA on November 14.
