MUSIC NEWS - Elvis Costello and The Attractions' classic Hollywood High concert from 1978 will finally be released on CD in January 2010. Individual tunes had been made available over the years, but the Univeral Music Enterprise release next month will be the first time the entire performance has been put out.
Appropriately called "Live at Hollywood High", the release will include 20 songs and out on January 12, 2010 and will give us 11 previously unreleased songs, say UME.
Elvis Costello was a mere 23 at the time of the concert, and just gaining wide recognition in the USA. The show was recorded before a packed house at Hollywood (CA) High School's auditorium on June 4, 1978. The tracklist list includes some of his best known songs, like "Alison," "Mystery Dance," "Waiting for the End of the World," Miracle Man" and "Watching the Detectives" and previously unreleased versions of "Lip Service," "The Beat," "Living in Paradise," "(The Angels Wanna Wear My) Red Shoes," and others.
