MUSIC NEWS - French alt-rockers, PHOENIX have announced additional North American headlining tour dates in December and January, capping their recent wild ride in the USA with critical and audience acclaim, and a deserved Best Alternative Grammy nomination last week.
Recently selling out its NYC gig, the band hit Boston this leg, with dates in Montreal, Toronto and more stops in the Midwest before shifting to the West Coast. After an Austin, TX gig on December 17, they'll take a short break for the holidays, returning here for three new West Coast appearances in January 2010. One of the highlights includes is a January 22 show in Vancouver as part of the 2010 Winter Olympics festivities (full itinerary below).
The band's fourth studio release, "Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix," was released back in May and was recorded in Paris by Phillippe Zdar; half of the French house-music duo Cassius. The set contains ten tunes and follows their 2006 "It's Never Been Like That".
WAP is also available in a special-edition 2-CD box set which includes a second disc that features remixes of the album's tracks by a selection of performers, including Animal Collective, Friendly Fires and Alex Metric, among others.
