UPDATE 12/31/09 - Van has now told an Irish broadcasting network that reports of him becoming a new father this week are completely false and that his website was hacked. He told the RTE that he is "very happily married to Michelle Morrison" with whom he has "two wonderful children" and has no idea who Gigi Lee is. Atempts to reach Morrison's US publicist, Phil Lobel, were unsuccesful. Our e-mail request for details on the birth "confusion" were received the follow reply - "I am out of the country and not on email of cell until Monday, January 4th, 2010." hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ...

MUSIC NEWS - As Van Morrison, 64, announces new USA concert dates, he also unveils that he and his wife, GiGi, welcomed their son George Ivan Morrison III on Monday. The couple says that "Little Van" (the Man ?) is "the spitting image of his daddy." All we know is that the baby is a dual citizen of the USA and Britain. No other information has been released and Morrison's publicist, Phil Lobel, says the exact time and location of the birth is being kept private. (so forget about sending baby gifts)
