MUSIC NEWS - ELVIS COSTELLO has announced a few spring USA tour dates as he continues to promote his June 2009 album release, "Secret, Profane & Sugarcane" (out via Starbucks' Hear Music label), his 25th studio album. After a February 7 show in Edmonton, Alberta, Costello kicks off the run with a solo Napa, CA show on April 8. April also brings Costello to several venues with The Sugarcanes, as he re-assembles the identical lineup that worked on the album, an some other dates with his "Imposters". Shows include an appearance at the New Orleans Jazz Fest (April 29) and a gig at Wilkesboro, NC's Merlefest (May 1). He wraps up with two late-May performances in Dallas, where Costello will be backed by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra (full itinerary is below).
If you forgot, the '09 album was produced by T Bone Burnett, who also co-wrote two songs, "Sulphur to Sugarcane" and "The Crooked Line". Mr Costello's also visible on the Sundance Channel, with the second season of excellent music/talk series, "Spectacle: Elvis Costello With...".
