MUSIC NEWS- T-Bone Burnett has announced he's on board with legend Willie Nelson for the new album, "Country Music" the first release by Willie as part of his new deal with Boston, MA based Rounder Records.
The constantly touring Nelson, who regularly is out 200+ days a year touring, has said he'll include songs from the album at shows on his current tour. "Country Music" will feature musicians such as banjo player Riley Baugus, double bassist Dennis Crouch and Burnett himself, all veterans of the sessions for "Raising Sand", the award winner and popular album by Robert Plant and Alison Krauss.
As Rounder hits 40 this year, Nelson's album is part of a series of special releases the label has in store during 2010. This March 2, the indie label brings out "Rounder Records' 40th Anniversary Concert," an event recorded in October 2009 at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, TN. Performers on the release will include Rounder acts such as Alison Krauss & Union Station, Bela Fleck, Mary Chapin Carpenter and Irma Thomas, among others. Watch for PBS tv airings of the concert event in March.
Also on the release schedule are new albums from Alison Krauss & Union Station, Kaki King and Mary Chapin Carpenter.
