MUSIC NEWS - Rock guitar master Jeff Beck has announced additional dates on upcoming tour that include the USA and Canada with the legendary Brit rocker's adding two dozen dates over the spring and summer.
The first leg of Beck's North American tour begins April 16 at Nob Hill Masonic Center in San Francisco, CA, and wraps up on May 1 at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival in New Orleans, LA. Beck will then be on a break for a month before starting up again on June 3 in Boston, MA at the Bank of America Pavilion, then ending June 23 at the PNC Pavilion in Cincinnati, OH.
Beck has a new band for this tour; drummer Narada Michael Walden, bassist Rhonda Smith and keyboardist Jason Rebello. The tour coincides with his April 13 release of the first Jeff Beck studio album in seven years, "Emotion & Commotion."
The guitarist just won a Grammy on January 31 for another recent work, the live album "Performing This Week...Live at Ronnie Scott's" (released in November 2008). His rendition of "A Day in the Life" was rewarded with the Best rock Instrumental Performance award at Sunday's ceremonies, which also featured Beck's Les Paul tribute performance of "How High the Moon" with Irish singer Imelda May.
