MUSIC NEWS - Former Kinks leader, Ray Davies has announced additional USA concerts to support his intriguing recent album, The Kinks Choral Collection, his visit back to some classic Kinks tunes and Davies solo tunes with the Crouch End Festival Chorus.
The tour starts up on February 26 in Atlantic City, NJ and, as of this writing, ends on March 27 show in San Diego, CA (full itinerary below) .
In 2007 Davies worked with choirmaster David Temple and an 80-piece choir for his "Flatlands" piece, a commission from the Norfolk and Norwich Festival. After a reunion in summer 2009 for two festival performances, the pair headed to the studio to create the choral collection. "I think these songs fit together really well as a record," Davies said recently. "I couldn't re-record anything unless I could bring something new to it, and I think I certainly have."
