MUSIC NEWS - As the Vatican continues to re-invent itself and show how "hip" it is, the L'Osservatore Romano on Sunday published a "semiserious guide" to their ten best rock albums of all time. Gone are the days of denouncing rock music apparently but not the days of the classics (rock, this time).
"Some songs seem to have been written yesterday…. while others still send shivers down the spine for their illuminating simplicity and musical thrust" the author of the article said about MJ's "Thriller." About the Oasis’ album, L’Osservatore Romano said "the album was never equaled" in part because of the disruptive in-fighting by the Gallagher brothers, the leaders of the group." I will say that I'm quite surprised, but pleased, with David Crosby's inclusion.
Oh, enough already, I'm off to look for Spin's list of the top ten scripture lessons. In the meantime, let's help the Vatican with a list of who's missing !
